"Roses are red
Violets are blue
Dallas is ours."
-Vincet

A few weeks ago I got asked to be someone's valentine. I was thrilled and honored to have such a stud actually ask ME, Brittainy Rieske, to be their valentine.

So here are the Ten reason why I absolutely adore my valentine...
1. In it to win it. This person has been by my side for almost two years.
2. Trendiness. I look to this person to get in touch with my inner hipster.
3. Great listener. I'm constantly turning to this person to vent and divulge all my inner secrets too.
4. Dance moves. Oh man. Boy are they great.
5. Willingness to go with it. I make this person do all sorts of things that are out of the norm.
6. Nurturing ability. Gives the best back rubs when I don't feel well.
7. They love me for my collection of Arkansas sweatshirts.
8. Common love for DC. No explanation needed.
9. Netflix watching buddy. Perfect person to watch an entire season of any trashy show with.
10. Keeps me grounded. Our perceptions are different but because of this I'm able to see a different twist to life.

Who is this amazing person?

My roommate Devaun Sheppard.

Happy V-day Devo! I'm so glad you are mine! :)

Sometimes

"The editor, director plus I'm my own boss
So posh, nails fierce with the gold gloss
Which means nobody getting over me
I got the swag and it's pumping out my ovaries"
-Kreayshawn

Sometimes we will be in our room, on our computers, and Devaun will smile. I know that's my cue to check FB for something funny on my wall.

Then we laugh for a few moments. Then go back on with life. I'm sure other people don't think what we are saying back and forth via internet blog website is funny, but we find it hilarious. If they only knew what happens here in the Hollywood house they would be weezing right along with us.

Sing it Kreayshawn.

Say Yes to the Dress

"I like being a woman, even in a man's world. After all, men can't wear dresses, but we can wear the pants."
 -Whitney Houston

For 20-30 hours a week I hear all about love, weddings, and flowers. I'm surrounded by tulle, taffeta, and satin. So what has all this wedding gown experience been teaching me?

  1. Some people have horrible taste in clothing.
  2. A size 16 can look just as pretty as a size 2 if she is confident and happy.
  3. Tell girls what they want to hear.
  4. Anytime I work for a boss that just happens to be in the Motab she is going to be a tad eccentric
  5. Love exist for everyone and it happens in crazy ways.
     6. Having two jobs doesn't mean you make a ton of money. It just means you are a ton of tired.

I'm extremely happy with the things that are happening in life. I'm even more happy about the fact that in the near future there may involve karaoke.

As Cougar (first name, not last name, not nick name) my "sex ed" teacher tells us.
Be cool. Have fun. Be young & drink kool aid.

The Secret

"Thought impregnated with love becomes invincible."
-Charles Haanel

The next semester will be intense to say the least however I have the secret. Poke fun but I will get through it just fine as long as I keep my attitude in check.

I started my new job at Gowns by Pamela and it's just like I thought it would be. I have 17 credits of fun but before you know it the summer will be here and I will be headed to Thailand. Go team!

In the mean time. I have a cool roomie that brings snacks to sacrament.

"If we're on the Island of Unwanted Toys
We'll miss all the fun with the girls and boys
When Christmas Day is here
The most wonderful, wonderful, wonderful, wonderful, wonderful day of the year!"

I'm Dreaming...

I still have two finals to take and a million things to do before I leave in 24 hours but all I can think about are these two places.

Greenwood, Arkansas

Chaing Rai, Thailand

Yes, one is significantly more exciting than the other but both are "truly magical places."

Day 2

"It's funny how, in this journey of life, even though we may begin at different times and places, our paths cross with others so that we may share our love, compassion, observations, and hope. This is a design of God that I appreciate and cherish." -Steve Maraboli

Today I am grateful for people. They are all around me. There are people in classes, church, work, and all other interactions that are awesome.
I'm also grateful for people who love and support me. Tonight three amazing friends came to my capstone presentation. Got to love them.
